Dont be intimidated by the word "Aggregator" if you dont understand what it is. Its simply a way to gather information from various sources and place them into a single place (your aggregator)!
Keep in mind when viewing the sites that are under "Aggregators" there are multiple reasons for them being here. You have to think outside the box and realize that all of these sites can be used for much more than what they say on the site. Social learning and networking is all about combining your resources and finding new ways to communicate using these sites. Also, listed below may not be all of the possible sites that could fall under "Aggreagators", but here a few to get you able to see how they can be used for such a purpose.
Example:Google Reader is what I persoanlly use and I check it everyday. Both for funny articles and videos, to serious informational feeds that help me better my knowledge in scripting languages.
Refer to Articles section for more ideas and viewpoints on how other people have used these sites.
I myself use Google Reader and it is an exceelent way to gather sources of information into one place. This way you dont have to have 20 tabs open to view all your daily news sources. Instead you can do it all in one window. I would strongly recommend you try an aggregator even if you dont quite understand them. They are fairly easy to use and really can make a difference. To get you started after you create an aggregator, go to Geekologie and add it from their "Feeds" section. Then you simply gather all the information that is placed on Geekologie everyday, in your aggregator!
Check out these articles to give you an idea on how these resources can be used for a lot more than they may seem. You might find out ways to use some of these social networking sites in ways that can really help you.
